How We Work: From Conception to Completion and Beyond
Visiting You At Your Property
From the moment that you call us we want you to know that we are here to ensure that you have the best service and will work in partnership with you to design a gate system that is perfect for your needs. We, therefore, feel that it is important from the outset, to visit you at your property and discuss your individual requirements. We will advise you on your wide range of options from gate designs and colours to motors and communication systems.
We can discuss how to individualize the gates to your tastes, (for example, taking into account any existing patterns or colours at the property), any specific needs (for example, shared use of the property) or limitations (for example, the slope of a drive, or the positioning of walls, trees or street furniture).
During our visit, we will take photographs of your existing gateway or where the new gates will be installed, together with any additional special features that you would like us to take into account. We can then use these to personalise your quotation.
Visit Us At Our New Showroom
If you would like to drop in and visit us, our new showroom will be opening in Spring 2018.
You will be able to see gate samples and discuss your project. Where we have already worked up a design illustration for you (see below) we will be able to let you explore the design in 3 dimensions and show you how it would look in different colours.
FREE AND PERSONALISED QUOTATION
Following our visit, we will work up a Quotation for you. This service remains free of charge and without obligation. The Quotation will be as detailed as possible and will show you exactly how the cost is worked up and exactly what you will receive.
To support the Quotation we will also work up a design model or models of the gates. We can then insert these illustrations into the photographs taken during our initial visit. This will show you exactly how the gates will look when they are installed.
The Quotation will also be accompanied by a set of our terms and conditions and we are happy to talk through any queries you may have in relation to the Quotation or the terms.
PUSHING THE BUTTON
If you would like us to proceed on the basis of the quotation just let us know. We will ask for a 60% deposit up front and this is where the designs become a reality. We will discuss timings so that we can ensure that the installation best suits your needs (for example, if you have a new build and need to fit around other contractors etc.). We will also send off the design (subject to your right to a 14-day cooling-off period) to our gate manufacturer and suppliers so that your gates can begin to take shape.
14 Day Cooling-Off Period
In law, you are entitled to a 14 calendar day cooling-off period from the date on which you accept the Quotation. If during this time you decide that you no longer wish to proceed with the Agreement you need to let us know in a clear instruction. You are not required to give your reasons. The terms and conditions are designed to make this process as easy as possible for you but if you have any queries about this right please do not hesitate to contact us.
If you do cancel a contract in the deadline you will be entitled to a full refund of your deposit subject to the following. If you are certain that you wish to go ahead with the Agreement and/or there is an element of urgency in the installation of your gates, you are entitled to give us a clear written instruction to start the works within the 14 day period. If you do so you will not lose your right to cancel the contract within the 14 day period but you may incur costs resulting from your instruction as for example, the gates ordered are customised to your individual requirements and cannot be sold on to other clients.
We will be in touch shortly before the installation date to confirm that everything is ready to go.
Please be aware that the installation of gates is subject to such factors as the weather and similar project management issues and the exact date of installation may need to change from the initial estimated date given. However, we will endeavour to install the gate as close to the estimated date as possible and you will be kept up to date all the way.
Our fully qualified engineers will then come to the property to install the gates.
On completion, our engineers will take you through the functioning of the gate and ensure that you are ready to go.
We will then invoice you for the balance of the account.
Our products come with manufacturers’ guarantees which range from 12 to 24 months. When any product or service does not have a specific manufacturer’s guarantee then Harrogate Automation will guarantee that product or work for 12 months from installation.
This means that we will continue to provide a support service to you following the installation of your gates, will fix any faults which may arise and will assist you with your communications with the gates.
Following the conclusion of the guarantee period’s Harrogate Automation is able to provide on-going assistance with your gates through a choice of one-off or on-going servicing and maintenance agreements. Please be aware that these maintenance and servicing agreements are separate from your initial gate installation agreement and a separate charge will be raised.
